Gin School

"I'm gonna have to send you back to Gin Schooooool"

This weekend I got to go to Gin School, as my mate Liam’s +1, it was a birthday present from his wife Maeve.

It was in Salthill and was honestly a blast. The atmosphere was relaxed, I learned loads, got to make up my own gin – which actually tastes nice! – and even though there were bottomless G&Ts, I didn’t go nuts.

Founded by four young local lads, it’s a lovely balance of ambitious and humble, and they’ve even branched out into tequila, shipping Galway Bay seaweed to Mexico for their own brand of tequila to be made and shipped back to Ireland.

P.S. I kept singing the chorus to Spinal Tap’s (satirically problematic) Bitch School to myself the whole evening.
