A captured regulator shows some grit

I had honestly given up, but I saw this this morning:

The Data Protection Commission (DPC) has today announced that it has opened an inquiry into X Internet Unlimited Company (XIUC) under section 110 of the Data Protection Act 2018.

This is for their horrific practice of generating CSAM en masse for the lols (and the dollars).

I didn’t think anything would shift, but even this small concession makes it harder for nothing to happen afterwards. The rest of the world is on a collision course with US Big Tech, and this is just one battleground.
